Lone Wolf’s Falling

My thoughts are mine,
My moments,
My pains, pleasures, treasures, all mine.
Mine!

That was what I thought,
That was how I liked it,
Mine, all mine.
Thinking of me was cool,
Dining with me was satisfactory,
Talking with me was true.

Solitary me did fine,
Treacherous you showed up,
Made me slow,
And made me bow.

Cupid’s wretched arrow struck me down,
Took me deep,
Split me in two,
Now I am no more.

A piece of me you reaped from me,
Sit across,
Watch, see, I bleed not,
Smile and welcome renegade me.
Coy, its your ploy,
Turn me against me,
Change my focus,
Strike your final blow,
End me now,
My center no longer holds.

Back and Forth

from the hilltop i watch you,
walking,
smiling with eloquent radiance,
you waving and I!
I too helpless to move,
my arms frozen solid as i watch,
bearing the weight of four full moons,
the further you go,
the longer the minutes last,
minutes become hours,
hours become days,
days become weeks,
i can’t miss you,
missing is too hard,
i can’t forget you,
my mind is filled with memories of you,
i can’t think of your arrival,
your arrival leaves me with memories of your last departure,
once again I am left to wait,
time is unforgiving,
distance its faithful ally,
still i wouldn’t have it any other way,
your absence reveals your importance.
